04 ProductionWeek 2–10 Eight weeks at most, four to six typical Cut, sewn, faced and brushed in Lima, with batch and lot traceability throughout, and sometimes straight from the shelf when the colours you want are already made. A written progress update reaches you at the halfway mark.

We sell ex works, or arrange shipment to your doorstep where possible. Your order reaches you one of two ways.

  1. Your forwarder collects. Your freight forwarder picks up the finished goods at the workshop in Lima and ships them on to you.
  2. By post to your doorstep. If we ship to your country, it goes by postal service to your doorstep within 15 to 30 working days from collection.

What we do is prepare every document needed from our side, so your agent can book the collection and clear it without coming back to us.

The production line is booked by the week

The workshop is one fixed team, paid the year round. Nobody is taken on for the Christmas run and nobody is let go in February, which is why the tenth carton looks like the first. It is also why there is only so much of it to sell. Weeks go to the orders that have a deposit against them, in the order those deposits arrived.

    Your deposit holds the week

    The 50% that confirms the order is not only a payment. It takes a week off this calendar and puts your name on it, and it is the moment the fur for your colours is bought and set aside. Until then the quotation holds the price for fourteen days, but it does not hold your place on the line.

    Availability of colours differs per cycle

    Alpaca fur is available in roughly twenty-two shades, and no cycle gives the same mix of them as the last one. We buy against that rather than around it: the fur is sourced for quality first and for as well-rounded a spread of shades as the season allows, so the colours buyers ask for most are the ones we plan to have. What a given cycle actually yields is on the colour card, colourway by colourway.
