The smallest things the workshop makes, in the same real alpaca fur as everything else: pom poms in four shades, three natural and one dyed, and keychains made from the same material. They sell at the till rather than off a shelf, and they carry an order over its minimum without carrying much weight.

What a small piece is actually for
It is the thing somebody adds to a purchase they have already decided on.
A pom pom or a keychain at the counter is not competing with the alpacas on the shelf, it is competing with nothing at all. That is why the material still matters at this size: a fur pom pom next to a till reads as an offcut of something good, and a synthetic one reads as a keyring.
They are also the cheapest way to put our fur in a customer's hand. A shop that sells a pom pom to somebody who came in for something else has introduced them to the material, and the 23 cm alpaca on the shelf behind is the next purchase.
And they are light. A carton of them adds almost nothing to the freight on an order that is mostly bigger pieces, which is worth knowing when the shipping is yours. Importing from Peru.
