The 23 cm small, from $15.90
The one people buy as a present rather than for themselves, and the size most first orders are built around. It is also the size the finer Baby Alpaca grade is made in.
The bigger pieces, and the rugs

### On the shelf ###
What makes it a gift rather than a toy
Somebody picks it up. That is the whole mechanism, and it is why the material matters more here than anywhere else in the catalogue.
A plush alpaca made of polyester is a picture of an alpaca. One made of alpaca fur is the animal, and the difference is obvious in the hand within about a second, which is roughly how long a gift shop has. That is the entire argument for stocking a more expensive piece, and it does not need to be made in words on a sign.
The second thing is the colour. Nothing in the natural range is dyed, so a shelf of them is a run of browns and creams that sit together rather than competing, and it does not date. The three dyed shades are there for the shops that want a shelf to have a pink in it, and they are kept muted for the same reason.
The third is that no two are identical. They are cut from the fur by hand, so the markings fall where they fall. A customer choosing between four of them is a customer who has already decided to buy one.
