Your forwarder issues those, because you arrange the freight. We sell EXW Lima: your agent collects from the workshop with every document they need from our side already in their hand. If you have no forwarder in Peru yet, we will name the ones our other clients use.

Every piece, to the same standard.

Every piece is built to EN 71-1, EN 71-2, EN 71-3, ASTM F963-23, CPSIA and REACH. Not the pieces somebody asks about, but the ones that are necessary for selling a compliant children's toy internationally.

It is written into the order confirmation you sign, not into terms nobody reads. This is the level the workshop is run at on every batch, and nothing that falls short of it leaves the building. Always.

What each one actually tests

Plain English, not the title page of the standard. Where the status says the result is on request, name the standard your market needs and it comes with the quotation.

EN 71-1

Mechanical and physical

Seams, small parts, and the pull tests on eyes and nose. The one that decides whether a soft toy is safe in a child's hands at all.

Flammability

Rate of spread across the surface. Critical for long pile, so Monsterfluff is tested as its own construction rather than covered by the short-pile result.

Migration of certain elements

Lead, cadmium, chromium VI and the rest of the list, measured as what can leave the material. This is the one that matters for dyed fibre.

Adopted 25 November 2025, replacing the Directive after a transition of roughly four and a half years. Adds a Digital Product Passport per toy and a wider ban list covering PFAS, bisphenols and endocrine disruptors.

The American equivalent of EN 71, run by a third-party laboratory accepted by the CPSC. Your buyer in the States will ask for this one by name.

What is allowed in the dyes and finishes that touch the fibre. Natural fur starts this test in a better place than synthetic plush does.

This production has been through these tests at an independent laboratory and the results are here. Name the standard your market needs and the report comes with your quotation. Real results, on real Allin Maki production, not a promise to test later.

Now ask your current supplier

Ask them to put the same standard in writing and give them 48 hours. Compliance for a fur toy is genuinely hard, because long-pile natural fibre behaves nothing like polyester plush. Whatever comes back will tell you a great deal.

The importer of record carries the legal responsibility. That is true in the EU and it is true in the United States, and it means the buyer, or the buyer's customer, not the workshop. We can hand you every document that makes your file defensible, we can put the money behind the test result, and we can invite you to inspect before anything is packed. What we will not do is tell you the liability travels with the carton. It does not, and any supplier who says otherwise is telling you something you can check.

### Where the fur comes from ###

What does ethical alpaca fur mean?

European buyers ask about this before they ask about price, and they are right to. Here is the whole answer, in the same words we give everyone.

The fur is a by-product of Andean herding. The herds of the Andes are kept for their coats and for meat, and they have been for centuries. Animals die of cold, of age, of the things that happen to animals at four thousand metres. Those are the animals whose fur reaches the workshop. No animal is raised or killed for toy production, and there is no fur farming anywhere in the chain. Nothing about that changes if you order fifty pieces or five thousand: the herds are not run for us, and we buy what the season gives. The whole answer, on its own page.
