Gift trade shows 2027, and when to order alpaca stock for each season
The big gift and toy fairs of 2027 fall between 6 January and 10 February: Atlanta, Las Vegas, New York, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Paris and Birmingham all run in those five weeks. A second round follows in July and September. For handmade stock from Peru, order about twelve weeks before it has to be on the shelf.
Every date was checked on the organiser's own site on 7 October 2026, and the whole calendar is a file you can add to your calendar.

Which gift trade shows are on in 2027?
The fairs a gift, toy, museum or farm shop buyer is most likely to go to, in date order per region. All are trade fairs unless the table says otherwise.

Which fair is right for your kind of shop?
Go where your own customers' kind of product is shown: a gift fair for a gift shop, a toy fair for a toy shop, and the trade association's own show for museum and farm shops.
- Gift shops: Atlanta Market and NY NOW in the US, Spring Fair in the UK, Ambiente, Nordstil or Trendz in Europe, the Tokyo International Gift Show in Japan.
- Toy and baby stores: Toy Fair New York, Toy Fair London and Spielwarenmesse for toys; ABC Kids Expo and Kind + Jugend for baby products.
- Museum and zoo shops: MSA Forward is the one show built for museum shop buyers. Zoo shops tend to buy at the general gift fairs.
- Alpaca farm shops: the AOA national show, where the visitors are alpaca people and the vendors sell to them.
If you only go to one, go in January or February. That is when every big fair runs, and an order placed then still makes the summer.
### The buying calendar ###
When do you have to order for Easter, summer and Christmas?
About twelve weeks before the stock has to be on your shelf, and fourteen from 100 pieces. That is up to 6 weeks in the workshop (8 from 100 pieces) and up to 30 working days by post to your door, both at the slow end, so the stock is early rather than late.

Two things follow from the fair dates. An order placed at Ambiente, Spielwarenmesse or Spring Fair in early February reaches you before the summer. An order placed at Autumn Fair in September reaches you in December, which is too late for Christmas: for Christmas, order in July. The lead times are on the ordering page, per order size.
### At the stand ###
What should you ask a supplier at a fair?
Ask the questions that decide whether the stock reaches your shelf on time and can legally be sold there. A good stand answers all of them in writing.
- The minimum, in money or in pieces, and whether you can mix sizes and colours within it.
- The lead time for your order size, from the deposit to the goods leaving, and how long shipping to your door takes.
- The test report for your market, by its standard: EN 71 for Europe and the UK, ASTM F963 and the Children's Product Certificate for the US.
- Who ships, and to where: to your door, or ex works, where your own forwarder collects.
- Whether a reorder matches the first order, in shade and size, because your customers will compare.
- Payment terms, and what you get in writing before you pay a deposit.

Questions about the 2027 trade shows
From 29 January to 2 February 2027 at Messe Frankfurt, with Christmasworld and Creativeworld on the same dates. It is open to trade visitors only.
Atlanta Market runs twice at AmericasMart: in January, with the showrooms open from 12 to 17 January 2027, and in July, with the showrooms open from 13 to 18 July 2027. Both are for the trade only.
Twice at Tokyo Big Sight: from 24 to 26 February 2027 for spring, and from 8 to 10 September 2027 for autumn.
For handmade stock from Peru, by early August. For stock on the shelf by 1 November 2027, order by 9 August, or by 26 July for 100 pieces or more. An order placed at Autumn Fair in September arrives in December.
